About CMHS
In 1998, several community agencies amalgamated to create Children’s Mental Health Services (CMHS), Hastings & Prince Edward (Map). Since that time, CMHS has been helping to improve the mental health of children, youth and families.

CMHS is accredited with the Canadian Centre for Accreditation. Children’s Mental Health Services is staffed by Child and Youth Workers and professionally regulated Child and Family Therapists. Our clinicians are either Registered Psychotherapists or Registered Social Workers. Our staff are experienced in providing evidence based treatment to children, youth and families.

CMHS is funded through the Ministry of Health and was identified as the Lead Agency for Children’s Mental Health Services, overseeing programs and services across Hastings, Northumberland and Prince Edward Counties.

At CMHS, we measure the results of our services to make sure that our treatments work. We want you, your child or youth, to make as much progress as possible and to be satisfied with our services.

All services are free to you and your family and completely confidential.
Participation in our service is voluntary. We will work with you and your family to set goals and achieve them with you.
